Haiku Friday: Summer Houses

"Er...er...er...er...er...
Slam!" One sound marks that summer,
The screen door, closing.

Now, it is your turn.

Comments:
Atlantic Beach rocks!
House built 1946:
Still in family.

No creaking screen door
At my grandparents' house there's
just the "Kid-Catcher".

Swings easily enough
But when you let go, then it
chops your arm in half.

Why's it still installed?
A recall would have been back
in the Seventies.

Many bad nightmares
Walking through the Kid-Catcher
Cuts me in pieces.

But now it's broken.
Stops just before the door frame
Goes "er-er-er-er".

But it still lives on
In the minds of the victims
Of this evil door.

Never Understood
and now cannot afford a
beach or mountain home

Our Grosse Pointe house was
a beach house in the summer
Creaking door and all

Cold Faygo Red Pop
over vanilla ice cream
Nothing tasts better

Finally I live
close to an ocean. But its
too cold to swim in.

Oregon is GREAT.
Coast is gorgeous. But don't dare
go in for a swim.

People here? They just
explore tide pools. I refuse
to explore tide pools.

I will not enter
any natural body
of water. No way.

Too many gross, weird,
creepy, crawly, fishy things
who snack on your toes.

I like the pool. The
man made, chlorine infused pool.
Beach nice to walk on.

Tyd, you are a wimp
Venture into the ocean
Many wonders wait

Pacific Blue or
cold, green, muddy, Lake St. Clair
No decision here.

The Eno flows near
I wish I had your option
I miss sandy shores

Wimp. Yes, that is me.
Still, lakes, rivers, oceans - they
all just skeeve me out.

I see those pics of Osler wading thru the river or lakes near Osler Island? I pray he is wearing wading boots and a Haz Mat suit. I cannot deal.

I cannot even watch movies about oceans. And actually? The Octopus scares me the most.

Ah, Texas. Great place
to live. Horrible beaches.
Galveston? Corpus?

Octopus - yummy
grilled with garlic and lemon
nothing tastes better

ewww.

Anon, I live on
South Padre; beach is very nice
Going fishing now.

Vous, faites-le!
